Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search widget is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the result path. Our servers do not retain a separate copy of that search. If you contact us, the information in your message is used to respond or address the request.
Automatic Technical Data
Normal hosting logs may record an IP address, browser details, pages requested, and time of request. Those records help maintain security, diagnose faults, and understand broad use of the service. Cookies or similar technologies may support basic analytics or advertising measurement where used.
How Information Is Used
We use message contents to reply, and technical information to operate and protect the service. We do not sell a visitor's direct message or search entry as a contact list. A public record held by a city, Wayne County, Michigan, or another custodian is governed by that custodian's records and privacy rules, not by this policy.
External Services
Links on the Wyandotte pages lead to city, county, state, federal, library, archive, postal, and other outside resources. An outside site has its own privacy policy, terms, search forms, availability, and data practices. Review those materials before submitting personal information to that service.
Service Providers and Disclosure
Hosting, analytics, advertising, or search providers may process technical data needed to provide their service. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect the security of the service, or to respond to a lawful legal process. We do not control what a government custodian releases under Michigan law.
Security Practices
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used for the limited data we handle. No transmission or storage system is perfect. Avoid sending sensitive identity documents, account numbers, or information about a protected address through a general contact message.
Visitors Under 18
This reference is not designed to collect personal information from children. A parent or guardian who believes a child sent us personal data may contact us to request review and deletion where applicable.
Your Privacy Choices
You may ask about personal information in a direct message or request correction or deletion of information we control. Use the Contact page. Michigan has record-specific protections, including the Address Confidentiality Program created by 2020 PA 301 and voter-data redactions under Michigan Election Law. This policy does not determine removal of an official public record. Such requests must go to the office that holds the record.
The research did not identify a general Michigan consumer-privacy statute granting a universal deletion or opt-out right. That legal status can change, so this statement is not legal advice. Michigan Freedom of Information Act, 1976 PA 442, MCL 15.231 through 15.246, governs access requests to many public bodies, subject to exemptions.
Policy Changes
We may revise this policy when the service or legal requirements change. A revised version will be posted here with its current wording. Continued use after posting means the visitor accepts the revised policy.
